What's working as far as the MacBooks and uses of technology are concerned? Its nice to have the projector, espically with the math website, to have them look at one screen to teach how to play a game... or how to navigate brainpop its nice that the kids can have their own computer, so they dont have to wait for a computer
How have you been using the mobile laptop cart at your grade level? They go through the whole writing process (for writing workshop) on the computer, including publishing First in math Guided reading centers brainpop for social studies 2nd grade science with Foss games and other things that go along with the unit of study 1st grade used it for a listening center (but make sure you watch/listen first) The kids record themselves in photo booth and then they can evaluate their reading
What are some of the challenges you face? when the internet stops working when you are in the middle of working OR when you plan to use it and it won't connect the kids switch games if i am not looking right at them (when you want them to do another game)
What are your current needs relative to implementing the use of technology in your classroom? connectivity (its better than it was, but some 2nd grade is still having issues)
What tips do you have to share with others (i.e. classroom management, bookmarking sites, etc.)? The color cups that 1st grade is using to indicate if they are OK or if they need help (so they dont have to raise their hands) 1st grade sent a note home to the parents for them to bring in their own personal headphones (they are more comfortable with their own vs. the school ones)
